And, we’re back. After our start in 2018 with great writers and an all English-speaking line up, including literary superstars like Connie Palmen and Andrea Bottlinger, we returned in 2019 with a more diverse line-up in both English and German. Inspiring speakers like Vanessa Fox O’Loughlin, James Wills, Arthur Japin, Uwe Neumahr and Maria Cecilia Barbetta captivated an eager to learn group of aspiring writers. Overloading them with anecdotes, knowledge and secrets of the craft. We got lots of positive feedback and many of you asked if we could expand the event to multiple days. Your wish is our command. On Friday, March 6th and Saturday, March 7th the Frankfurt Writers’ Conference returns. While some say less is more, we’ve pulled out all the stops this year to bring you a bigger and better event than ever before.

Frankfurt Writers’ Conference 2020 will have events on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, Vanessa Fox O’Loughlin will host a workshop on how to find the right literary agent. Those who have met her know that she is a walking literary encyclopedia, from whom we can all stand to learn a trick or two. She enjoys sharing her knowledge, as well as motivating and inspiring her audience. On Friday, March 6th she will go into great detail about how to find the right  agent. Where do you find the one? How do you approach them? What are the do’s and don’t? Why do you even need one? She will answer all those questions and many more. The workshop will be interactive, so you get to ask as many questions as you want, so you’ll be leaving the workshop with all kinds of tips and tricks for literary success. Now all you have to do is write your book, easy, right? 😉

Saturday, March 7th will be  a full day of creative writing extravaganza. On the morning of the conference, we will have German speaking writers talking about the German literary scene. We have invited two German writers to give talks on their specialty literary topics. Afterwards, there will be a panel consisting of a writer, a Literary Agent, a Representative of a Publisher and a Bookstore Sales Agent. There are many different parties involved in the publishing process and while the end goal is the same, they do have different interests. After the panel, the publishing process you’ll feel well equipped to tackle the publishing process.

In the afternoon, it’s time for our English speaking writers. Their focus lies on the English speaking and international markets. The lineup will include 3 writers and 1 agent. How do you write in different genres, what makes a good story, how does English and international publishing work and other handy hints will be discussed during the different talks in the afternoon.

Our rapid yearly growth has left us needing a larger venue yet again and we’re pleased to announce that the Frankfurt Writers Conference 2020 will be held at Saalbau Bikuz in Frankfurt Höchst, just a short S-bahn ride from Frankfurt Central Station. We’ve worked hard to grow our conference next year and are looking forward to a fantastic lineup of authors, publishers and agents. See you there!
